This individual in this position is responsible for providing leadership, management, and direction for programs offered within the Division of Arts and Sciences. The individual in this position is also responsible for leading and coordinating institutional accreditation as described by the Higher Learning Commission. The Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of Arts and Sciences represents the Vice President for Academic Services when required to do so. Primary duties include: strategic and operational planning, budget planning and management, and supervision and evaluation of faculty in the Arts and Sciences division including Fine Arts, Math, Science, Social Science, Humanities, English and Communications. The AVP/Dean is also responsible for working with the shared governance committee chairs for leadership and guidance for those committees. The AVP/Dean is also responsible for working with four-year partners to ensure transferability of programs.
