Mid College Assistants (MCA) are individuals who should have completed historically difficult college-level coursework (same course or related course) and possess the ability to promote student learning and success. These assistants attend class lectures and facilitate optional study and review sessions for students enrolled in these targeted courses. The MCA is responsible for identifying challenging content and developing session activities to help students learn, process, and apply course material. They encourage peer-to-peer interactions and collaboration, integrating “how to learn” strategies into their sessions. The MCA is also responsible for ensuring classroom technology (Zoom) is operational each class meeting period, as well as troubleshooting any other related classroom startup issues.
These are courses being offered at the Tuscola Technical Center in Caro, MI with a projected start date of October 7, 2024. Mid seeks an MCA who can assist one or more of the following courses:
Additionally, supervision will be needed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for the fall 2024 semester from 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM (2.5 hours) and 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM (2.5 hours). The position shall not exceed 29 hours per week.
